School & College Visits

Gough's Cave
The Cave Guide will tell the story of the cave's geological formation and decoration, its occupation in the Stone Age and rediscovery in Victorian times. A memorable way to learn history and geography.
Cheddar Man - Museum of Prehistory
The Museum of Prehistory brings to life the amazing story of how our ancestors survived the Ice Ages. Re-enactors demonstrate the survival skills of flint knapping and firemaking.
Cox's Cave & The Crystal Quest
Tourists have flocked to Cheddar Gorge and its Caves since 1837, which makes us an ideal tourism business for schools and colleges to study.
The Lookout Tower
With 274 steps to climb to the Lookout Tower, and 48 more to get to the top, it’s the ideal place for students to burn off all that excess energy! There are 4 landing stages for those who prefer a slower pace.
Cliff Top Gorge Walk
A stunning 3-mile walk through an area that is a Site of Special Scientific Interest because of its karst limestone geology and remnant calcareous grasslands. It is also a Special Area of Conservation for protected species like bats, dormice and great crested newts.
Gorge Open-Top Bus Tour
This can be pre-booked as an optional extra. Students will enjoy the ride on our open-top double-decker. The views are awesome and they’ll hear plenty of fun and interesting facts from the guide.
